The humble and talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui got a fabulous opportunity to be on international platform with Cannes Film Festival recently. Having been there for the premier of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘The Lunchbox’, Nawazuddin found the experience worthy to cherish.

While he was able to have a brush with several Hollywood celebrities, Nawazuddin is all praise for Vidya Balan, whom he had shared screen in ‘Kahaani’.

Calling her as a rare actress to come across in this generation, Nawazuddin said, "I'm very excited about Vidya being at Cannes. This is the most prestigious festival and it's a big opportunity for her. It's a big honour for her and us. To be called there depends on the work you do and Vidya has the sensibilities and abilities as an actress. It's a big deal for anyone".

One of the hugest honours for a star to receive, Vidya was selected as jury member at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, joining the likes of Oscar-winning actor Nicole Kidman, director Ang Lee, Japanese director Naomi Kawase, British scriptwriter-director-producer Lynne Ramsay, French actor-director Daniel Auteuil, Romanian scriptwriter-director-producer Cristian Mungiu and Austrian actor Christopher Waltz as part of the nine-member jury.

Nawazuddin added further, "Vidya has made her own identity and there are few like her. The way actresses are used in a film, it's like they are just there and do nothing much in the film."

Nawazuddin was recently seen on big screen with ‘Bombay Talkies’
