Vinay impresses on debut
Monday, November 24, 2008 • Tamil Comments

The music part of S J Suryah's films come across as very special. Be it movies directed by him or films that feature him in the lead role.

Will the music of his forthcoming release 'Newtonin Moonram Vidhi' satisfy music-lovers? Debutant music director Vinay seems to have come out well with the album that features some catchy tunes.

Produced by Madras Entertainment and directed by Thaimuthuselvan, the movie features Sayali Bhagat, Rajiv Krishna along with Suryah.

New voices have been introduced through this album. Vinay's harmony and desire to render a perfect rhythm in his songs have the potential to impress listeners. The album has five songs and they are very different from each other but impressive. Considering this to be the maiden venture of Vinay, one has to say it is a job well done indeed.

Kaadhal Dhandora ( Krish)

Krish's voice does have a mystic feel in it. When he sings a melody, his voice immediately sticks to our hearts. A sophisticated song, the Kaadhal Dhandora has urban music with good harmony. It has some interludes with a chorus rendering some English words. Kabilan's lyrics are average here.

Ummaachi (Ranjith, Shalini)

Viveka has penned a sensuous song and Vinay has made good use of the trumpet to bring about the desired effect. A passionate song, it has music flowing freely. It reminds one of some yesteryear Ilayaraja tunes.

Mudhal Murai (Sunitha Saradhy, S JSuryaa, Sam P Keerthan)

S J Suryah has tuned singer with this song which has been penned by Na Muthukumar. It is an interesting number. Just as the listener starts to feel that the song would settle down at one pace, it picks up momentum all of a sudden. Flutes and Guitars have been used well by Vinay. Suryah has sung a catchy beginning verse in the musical album.

Paraparakkurey ( Naresh Iyer, Sri Lekha Parthasarathy)

Lyrics: Ilayakamban

This song is probably the pick of the album. It seems to be a titillating song and has been rendered in an unusual way by Naresh Iyer and Sri Lekha. A duet, the song features guitars, drums and vocals combined with good rhythm. Ilayakambnan's lyrics come to life with music.

Newtonin Moonram Vidhi (Sam P Keerthan)

Lyrics: Vivega

Obviously the title song, the number has been penned by Viveka and throws some light of the story the movie narrates emphasizing on the travails the hero would be undergoing. It talks about Newton's Third Law in physics. Packed with punch, the song has drums, violin and guitars which have all been used well.

Vinay has announced his arrival to the industry well with this album. Hopefully, if he starts to be more creative, he would end up big in the industry.
