Katy Perry, the pop sensation was one of the judges on the board, when Niall Horan, a contestant in the Television Talent Show, The X-Factor. One thing went to another and Niall Horan is now one of the leading singers in the world, post the band`s decision to take a break.

Given the age difference between the two singers and the formal\diplomatic relationship they`ve had towards each other until now shows that there`s nothing going on between them and that they`re just friends.

However, latest pictures of Katy Perry and Niall Horan backstage says otherwise about their relationship status.

The ET songstress and the Slow Hands singer were caught whispering something to each other in the ear and were smiling to each other, to which the fans took notice of and started “shipping” them together. HWile others ridiculed on their age difference.

Katy Perry later posted a picture on Instagram Stories calling out Niall Horan a “Stage-5 Clinger”.

Katy says “He wants to go out on a date”

She adds that she is “Not interested because of our almost 10-year age gap.”

Fans got excited about the news and sent the screenshots of her interview (in which she supposedly said the above) and Niall took notice of it.

He appeared later on the same show for an interview and he says

“I don`t know what she's talking about, by the way. I texted a mutual friend who works on her team saying, "I heard you guys are going to be down in Australia””

He continues “just wanted to be friends. Katy was 'being mean by suggesting otherwise about our relationship”

He adds “Katy has taken that and run with it and embarrassed me in front of the whole world”

This whole back and forth exchange of words had the fandoms on both sides a bit annoyed about Katy`s behavior.

Her recent breakdown about depression and anxiety and now her “continuing unwarranted attention-seeking behavior” is stirring up news around.

While Niall makes it very clear that he was just trying to be friends, she insists that he wanted to date her. Hmm…
