Kedi's baddie Nirmal Pandey is no more. When he comes on the scene the atmosphere would immediately change its mood to a much serious one. His presence on reel would terrorise one and all… Now when he has left for the heavenly abode in real, the industry has plunged into a grave silence…

Nirmal Pandey, who had been a popular baddie of the silver screen and television, passed away yesterday morning following a massive heart attack. Aged 48, the actor is survived by his wife Archana and two kids.

Pandey first stepped on screens with Shekhar Kapur's much acclaimed ‘Bandit Queen’ (1996). Later on he created a niche in Bollywood by playing negative roles in films like ‘Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin’, ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’, ‘One 2 ka 4’ and ‘Shikari’.

The actor had been recently working on an upcoming project ‘Lahore’, which is releasing today. Said Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the director of the film, “He plays a soft-hearted Pakistani Anwar Sheikh in the movie. He has a very meaty and powerful role in the movie. But unfortunately, I will not be able to show him the film.”

A graduate from the National School of Drama, Pandey has acted in around 125 plays and also done several television serials.

Our condolence to the bereaved family of the actor.
