Released in February, Vikram B Kumar's Ishq has been the first commercial hit in Nitin's career after a span of many years. The film has completed its 50-days run. The film has especially done well in the US, besides in Andhra Pradesh.

Everyone from Nitin and Nithya Menen down are happy that the film has been a bigger hit than they had expected.

The cackling chemistry between Nitin and Nithya Menen, PC Sreeram's cinematography and Anoop Ruben's musical score (including background score) are said to be the prime reasons behind Ishq's success. Ishq has been the most popular release in Nitin's career since Jayam (2002).
