Nag Ashwin of 'Yevade Subramanyam' fame is going to make a biopic on late Savithri and the film chronicles important incidents in the life of the legendary actress. The latest update reveals that the director has approached Nitya Menen to play Savithri in this movie and the actress is yet to give her nod.
An official announcement is awaited regarding the same. The film has been titled 'Mahanati' (the sobriquet used to refer the legendary actress), and a lot of research has been put in by the writers/director. Nag Ashwin has interacted with many old-time journalists, and read a lot of books as part of the research.
The biopic has been planned to be made on a grand scale. Ashwini Dutt will produce this movie. More details will be out soon.
