In what could well be described as sheer insanity on Bollywood's part, there were no new releases in the week gone by as well. World Cup has been made out to be a huge monster which it isn't actually but superstitions never cease to amuse and this is exactly what is happening currently with box office bleeding in a big way all across the country.

The team which is continue to laugh the loudest? 'Tanu Weds Manu' which is enjoying such a terrific run till date that even the makers would be highly surprised. For a film which would have been happy to gain anywhere close to 20 crores as the final outcome, 'Tanu Weds Manu' has now crossed 32 crores by adding another 5 crores in it's third week. The film is benefiting most from an open field and is the leading choice of cine-goers.

Till a week back one would have felt that 35 crores would be the eventual final total for 'Tanu Weds Manu'. However the momentum that it is managing to sustain ever since it's release, while 35 crores is a given, a total exceeding 38 crores looks like a definite possibility. This film is now the only clean hit of 2011 other than 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' and confirms once again that there is no stopping a good film.

The question though is - 'Will its fate have been any different had there been any new releases in weeks following 'Tanu Weds Manu'?' Well, definitely yes but the difference would have been only in 5-6 crores range, not more than that.
