Economy class flyers of Air India will longer have meat options in their menu onboard domestic flights.

However, business class flyers will continue to get non vegetarian food.

Six months ago, the airline stopped offering non vegetarian meals to economy class passengers onboard domestic flights shorter than 90 minutes. The current decision is set to save nearly Rs. 7-8 crores annually for the airline that is under heavy debts.

Inadvertently, the onus falls on the AI in-flight crew to answer the questions of all disgruntled flyers.

AI clarified that it will continue to serve egg dishes to economy class flyers on domestic flights.
