The only prominent aspirant for councilor election to 2015 Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Smt Vijayalakshmi Singh, actress, director and producer lost the election battle from on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Cauverypura Ward No 103 in Govindarajanagara. Ramila Umashanker of JDS party won the battle by a comfortable margin against Congress I candidate. Vijayalakshmi Singh lost by 2000 votes.
Vijayalakshmi Singh was supported by her husband Jai Jagadish, Golden star Ganesh, Aditya, three children, Ba Ma Harish and others from Kannada cinema industry. In the elections results announced on Tuesday Vijayalakshmi Singh was in third position in the election battle.
