Among other things, '7aum Arivu' will specially focus on 'Nokku Varmam', one of the important aspects of 'Varmam', a martial art used in ancient days to face the opponents. "After intense research, director AR Murugadoss has written scenes on Nokku Varmam," sources say.

We had already seen the power of Varmam in 'Indian', where Kamal Haasan would use it to freeze the baddies. But Nokku Varmam doesn't require hands or legs, for those who had perfectly practiced it could perform it with the help of their eyes alone.

"The Tamil word Nokku means 'to see'. Nokku Varmam is a peculiar martial art through which a particular part in the opponent's body could be attacked by mere sight itself. In 7aum Arivu, Suriya appears as a martial arts exponent, who is an expert at Nokku Varmam," sources say.

Shruthi Haasan plays a modern scientist in the film produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies, who dismisses the idea of Nokku Varmam. "For her, everything is science and she calls it hypnotism. However, how she gets convinced later is the crux of the story," sources conclude.
