A bandh has been proposed in Karnataka to protest against the release of 'Baahubali 2', directed by SS Rajamouli. The reason that has been cited is a comment that Sathyaraj, who is playing Kattappa in the film, made over the Kaveri dispute 9 years ago.

Obviously affected by the development, Rajamouli has put out a videographed appeal to the Kannada people on his Twitter page. Speaking in Kannada, he urged the people to not put the fate of 'Baahubali-2' at stake for the comments made by Sathyaraj very long back.

"We didn't even know that he made those comments when we roped him in. Sathyaraj 'avaru' is neither the film's director nor its producer. He is just one among the many artistes. I urge the people of Karnataka to make the second part a hit just as they made the first part a hit," he said.

Rajamouli further said that, in the last 9 years, many of Sathyaraj's movies have been released in Karnataka. "If 'Baahubali-2' is stalled, he (Sathyaraj) won't lose anything. It's we who are going to lose. Please don't show the anger towards him towards all of us," he said.
