Is it a curse on NTR that a director who is high on a success fails to deliver with him. Does NTR give the director a complacency that fails them to deliver twice in a row... What makes the Young Tiger different from the other heroes. A study into the actor’s filmography establishes that for every failure of the actor, the director had a hit just before.

‘Ninnu Choodalani’, the debut of NTR as the hero has director VR Pratap who came straight from ‘Nuvvu Vastavani’, Akkineni Nagarjuna - Simran starrer, produced by RB Chowdary’s Sper Good Films. NTR’s ‘Ninnu choodalani’ is a failure. NTR’s third was ‘Subbu’ with Suresh Varma, who delivered a hit in ‘Sivayya’ just before this film. B Gopal after his all time blockbuster ‘Narasimha Naidu’, did ‘Alalri Ramudu’ with NTR immediately and failed.

Puri Jagannath gave his first flop in five films after ‘Itlu Sravani Subramanyam’, Idiot, ‘Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammaayi’ and ‘Siva Mani’. His much publicized ‘Andhrawala’ was a damp squib at the Box office. VV Vinayak’s ‘Samba’ came immediately after ‘Tagore’, Surender Reddy’s ‘Oosaravelli’ was the immediate next to ‘Kick’, ‘Dammu’ was a failure for Boyapati after ‘Simha’, ‘Badshah’ was Srinu Vaitla’s average fare at the BO immediately after ‘Dookudu’ and finally, Harish Shankar who is on a high after twin successes ‘Mirapakay’ and ‘Gabbar Singh’ failed to deliver with NTR in ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’ with the film thrashed by critics and reports from the fans say that they are disappointed with the show.

One director who failed to deliver twice with NTR is Meher Ramesh (Kanthri, Shakthi) while VV Vinayak and SS Raja Mouli are the directors who doubled up their successes with NTR as well. Vamsy Paidipally and Krishna Vamsy gave hits with NTR after a failure.
