‘Nuvve Naa Sakhi’ made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously will hit the screens for Christmas (Dec 25).

Directed by Kanmani who did ‘Aaha Ethanai Azhagu’(Tamil) earlier, ‘Nuvve Naa Sakhi’ has Sandhya and Sangeetha’s bro Parimal in the lead.

The script is about two people who elope, but the reason is not love. Heroine Anjali, a responsible girl, meets a guy (Parimal) with a carefree attitude. And then, the two of them elope.

This film is said to have a light-hearted screenplay. Vasundhara, Mahadevan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Suman Shetty, Thambi Ramaiah and others do supporting roles. Produced by V Barani, the movie has music by D Imman and cinematography by Anji.

Director Kanmani says that the storyline was conceived long back and was waiting for a right opportunity to make it as a film. “Parimal and Sandhya fit to their respective roles well. The movie has been shaped up in an interesting way,” adds the director.

Sandhya is pinning all her hopes on ‘Nuvve Naa Sakhi’. “When director Kanmani narrated the story, I was mostly in splits. I think I like eloping now! This will be an important movie in my career. The script is so gripping and my role has been given enough importance. It is not a run-of-the-mill kind of story, but a knot with so may twists and turns,” she said.
