After a disastrous performance during the Lok Sabha Elections 2014 with her own party, Rakhi Sawant has now joined Republican Party of India. In fact her trademark style, Rakhi has now openly challenged MNS supremo Raj Thackeray.

She was quoted, "I am not scared of anyone... If required, I am ready to contest the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections against (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief) Raj Thackeray."

Rakhi has joined RPI as the national executive president of its women's wing. RPI cheif Ramdas Athawale welcomed Rakhi in his party by saying, "Besides being a popular actress, she is also a dedicated social worker. In fact, we have some artistes in the RPI, who are engaged in social work." Well, let`s see how does this help Rakhi in gaining foothold in Politics.
