Omkara. Dolly. Langda. Keshu. Billo Chaman Bahar. Bhaisahab and Vishal Bharadwaj. Add the name of scriptwriter William Shakespeare. And you have the Desi version of the classic tragedy Othello. ‘Omkara’ is easily the most awaited film.

As the D-Day: 28th July is fast approaching, the decibel levels of expectations are growing higher and higher. The film industry is buzzing with the extraordinary performances by lead pair Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor, while the whole starcast is vouching for Saif Ali Khan’s devilish act worthy of many an award.

The smoldering-with-magic music by Vishal himself is being loved by all. While ‘Beedi Jalayi Le’ and ‘Omkara’ is a rage amongst the masses, ‘O Saathi Re’ and ‘Laakad’ are the favourites of connoisseurs. Gulzar’s lyrics are like molten lava that heats up things with unconventional-yet-simple imagery.

One thing that has caught the attention is the poster and publicity designing. The rustic earthen feel literally flows out of the picture images that are doting the newspapers, cinema hoardings or wallpapers on the internet.

‘Omkara’ is the story of Othello and Desdemona and how jealousy kills a relationship. The sixteenth century idea has been adapted into the mafia infested interiors of India’s Western UP in today’s times.

Vishal also promises a surprise at the end, something that may make King Shakespeare turn around in his grave. Here’s looking forward to ‘Omkara’ with baited breath.
