Onam releases in Mollywood begin with Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam on August 31, followed by Mammootty’s Pullikkaran Starra, Nivin Pauly’s Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela and Prithviraj’s Adam Joan.

Directed by Lal Jose, Velipadinte Pusthakam has Mohanlal playing the role Prof. Michael Idicula. His character is known for his unconventional teaching methods, so much so that his students call him ‘Dracula’. Interestingly, Mohanlal is appearing in three different get-ups for his role in the movie. The movie has Angamaly Diaries fame Reshma Rajan in the female lead along with Anoop Menon, Arun Kurian of Anandam fame, Alencier Ley Lopez, Salim Kumar, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Krishna Kumar and many others in pivotal roles. Written by Benny P Nayarambalam, the film’s music is by Shaan Rahman. Vishnu Sarma is in charge of the camera department while Ranjan Abraham takes care of editing. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, the movie has hit the big screens today prior to Onam. Being a pure commercial family entertainer, the movie has opened to positive responses.

Adam Joan is an upcoming Malayalam revenge thriller film written and directed by Jinu Abraham.After their successful collaboration in Robin Hood - Prithviraj, Narain and Bhavana are once again share screen space in the upcoming movie. Adam Joan features Prithviraj in the title role while actor Narain will portray Adam's close friend named Cyriac. Bhavana will be playing a brief role in the movie, while Bollywood actress Mishti Chakraborty essays the female lead opposite Prithviraj. Produced by B Cinemas and Renji Panicker Entertainments, the upcoming dark thriller is about how Adam comes across his college buddy Cyriac when he travels to Scotland, and how the latter helps him in his journey. Nivin Pauly's Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela directed by Premam fame Althaf Salim is sure to be an Onam treat for the family audiences. The songs and posters of the Nivin Pauly starrer promise to be a fun-filled family story and have already grabbed the attention of many. The movie featuring Nivin Pauly and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles will hit the big screens on September 1, 2017. Apart from Nivin Pauly, 'Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela' also features actor-director Lal, Shanti Krishna, Njan Steve Lopez fame Ahaana Krishna, Saiju Kurup, Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen, Krishna Shankar, Srinda and many others in the supporting roles. The movie, which marks the directorial debut of Althaf Salim, is produced by Nivin Pauly, himself. Scripted by director Althaf, himself. Megastar Mammootty's 'Pullikkaran Staraa' directed by 7th Day fame Shyamdhar, will hit the theatres on September 1, Friday. In the upcoming movie, Mammootty plays the role of a teacher's training instructor named K Rajakumaran who is a native of Idukki and comes to Kochi. The movie revolves around this fabulous teacher trainer character and the events that happen after he joins a Government school in Ernakulam. The story takes a turn when two women from two different generations come across his life and change it for the better or worse. Asha appears as Manjari Muraleedharan, a teacher, while Deepthi essay the role of an IT professional. Produced by Rakesh under the banner of Universal Cinemas, the movie also has Alencier Ley, Dileesh Pothen, Innocent, Hareesh Kanaran and Sohan Seenulal playing pivotal roles. Vinod Illambilly is the director of photography. M Jayachandran composes the songs and background score.
