Actor-director Parthiban's Kudaikul Mazhai managed to win rave reviews. Produced, directed and enacted by Parthiban, the movie featured Madhumitha in the lead role.

The highlight of the movie was Parthiban attempted to make the script revolve around just two characters, and have just two artistes in the frames for the most part. And to plan the scenes in just two main locations. This attempt by Parthiban won him several accolades. He plays a schizophrenic youth in the movie falling in love. Kudaikul Mazhai did not succeed at the box office. But has brought him joy for it has been selected for screening at the Intentaional Film Festival at Berlin, Germany.

A fitting reward for a director, who always wants to be different from the crowd.
