‘Suryakanthi’ is the lone release for Sankranthi – Pongal festival. The other big film ‘Porkhi’ has deferred the release.

It is interesting to see actor Chetan and director Chaitanya the two shot to fame with ‘Aa Dinagalu’. Chetan had a box office accident in ‘Birugali’ but the expectations for director KM Chaitanya is high.

‘I want to make films with integrity and sensibilities even in commercial cinema’ said director Chaitanya addressing the media prior to the release of his second directorial venture. There are stunning elements in the film like the actors, photography, locations, music etc. This is fit for entire family viewing. The audience will catch up Nasser and Kishori Ballal in grand parents’ role. It is filled with fun, idealistic in nature plus a dose of Gandhism says Chaitanya. ‘Suryakanthi’ is a visual splendor where the story by KY Narayanaswamy is a highlight, and the film is slick entertainer.

Produced by Avigna Media M. Vasu and BN Sujatha the film ‘Suryakanthi’ is shot in Uzbekistan, Goa and other rich locales. Venu HC (husband of national award actress Thara) is the cameraman.

Maestro Illayaraja has tuned lovely songs for this film. Yogaraj Bhat, Jayanth Kaikini, K Kalyan have written the lyrics. Enagi Nataraj, Asif, Ganesh Yadav are also in the cast.
