Akshay Kumar's 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2' would be launched in style and with much fanfare this Diwali. There are elaborate plans to pitch it as an event movie in the making. So much so that while it would be getting readied to hit floors, a special promo would be cut well in advance to give audience a feel of what they could expect next year when the film actually hits the screens.

"This is a phenomenon which is more prevalent in Hollywood where a promo is created afresh rather than being cut from the actual footage available. While conventional promotion means creating a teaser or a theatrical promo once the film's principle shoot has been completed and it reaches the editing table, in case of major movies it is a reverse process," says a prominent promo editor.

Milan Luthria, director of the original and now the sequel of 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai', confirms the news. "Yes, 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2' would have an even bigger canvas and it is imperative that audience sees what's in store for it right at the time when the film goes on floors. We just did a stage act at an awards function with Akshay to launch the film. On Diwali this year, we will release the promo as well before the film goes on floors."

We look forward to that Milan.
