Responsibility on director Pandiraj’s shoulders is now high than ever, as ‘Vamsam’, the filmmaker’s next after ‘Pasanga’, has Arulnidhi, grandson of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, playing the protagonist.

Produced by M K Thamizharasu, Arulnidhi’s father, shooting is currently going on in Pudhukottai. Sunaina is playing the heroine while Taj Noor, a former associate of maestro A R Rahman, is scoring the music.

“Though I cannot reveal much about the story, I have got an opportunity to deal with varied emotions in this film, as ‘Vamsam’ is a tale of a generation of a family- their happiness, grief, love and death,” says Pandiraj.

The director adds: “The film will be a straight contrast to ‘Pasanga’ in its content and will be similar in attracting the audience. Arulnidhi, though hails from the State’s first family, is like any other new face who is ready to take risks to make it big in the industry. He will surely create waves in Kollywood.”
