Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

A remake of the blockbuster Kannada movie Jogi, Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram is a movie that dwells on the special bonding shared by a mother and her son.

Dhanush plays the son while veteran actor Archana plays his mother. Meera Jasmine plays the heroine in the movie. The movie has musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Dhanush is optimistic about the movie's fortune at the box office. "This is an action-packed emotional entertainer which has come out well," he says.

"The presence of National award winners Meera Jasmine and Archana made me nervous initially. But they were co-operative and helped me feel at ease," adds Dhanush.

Archana is back in the fray after 13 years, with a National award in her kitty for Veedu.

Parattai is produced by Keyar with Arjun Jana as the cinematographer.

The movie revolves around a woman who comes to the city from her village in search of her son. The son had come to the city to earn his livelihood and goes on to become an underworld don.

Dhanush, after his recent hit in Thiruvilayadal Arambam, is confident about Parattai and believes it will consolidate his place in the industry.

The movie was set to be directed by choreographer Raju Sundaram but he was replaced by Suresh Krishna later.

On his part, Suresh Krishna says, "There is every reason for the movie to succeed. It has a good storyline besides the coming together of artistes who are known for their acting skills."

Music by Yuvan is another highlight of the movie. "All the songs have come out well," he says and adds, "The movie would attract audiences of all age-groups."
