After Vivekh, Parthiban undergoes a major career change

Yesteryear heroes, comedians and character actors are slowly graduating to the quintessential father role in Tamil cinema. Sathyaraj and Prabhu are the front-runners in this area and their contemporary Vivekh has played the father to Karthi in the just released Kaashmora`.

Pathiban is the latest hero to turn onscreen father in Podhuvaga En Manasu Thangam` directed by Thalapathi Prabhu and produced by Sri Thenandal Films. The film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin as the hero and Nivetha Pethuraj as his love interest. Parthiban is playing Nivetha`s father and a political dadha who has a heated rivalry with the hero. It is said that the Pudhiya Paathai` hero agreed to the role because it is a meaty one.
