`Passenger', is the debut movie of Ranjith Shankar, a former assistant to Lal Jose. The youngster happened to narrate a thread about two guys, who never had anything between them and hardly had any acquaintance, but becomes the saviour of each other's lives at critical moments. Both veteran star Sreenivasan and popular hero Dileep who heard the one line, immediately agreed to become a part of the movie, which Ranjith directs on this story. Yes, the movie that they were discussing about is `Passenger', which has by now, almost completed its post production and is awaiting release. The movie scripted by the director seems to offer a very different story in the backdrop of a passenger train.
 
The movie will have Sreenivasan as Sathyanath, an sharp tongued employee of a private company. A regular in the passenger train to Kochi, he has some strange habits, including sleeping for a while in the train. His soft slumber starts when the train crosses a particular bridge on the way. And after half an hour, he wakes up at another point regularly, as if everything is plotted earlier. His leads a quiet life with his wife, Gayathry(lakshmi Sharma),who is a teacher.

Nandan Menon, who is an advocate, occasionally travels by the same train to the State High court. A popular barrister who stands for truth and justice, he believes justice itself prevail even it comes belate... Nandan Menon's wife, Anuradha (Mamtha Mohandas), is a television journalist.

Both these men of sincere lives happen to help each other on a critical moment on a very important issue, even though they hardly know each other. But this decisive day alters the life of both in every unexpected ways. `Passenger' tells this very novel thread and covers the happenings on the life of its protagonists in a span of three days.

The very pivotal portions of the movie is shot at a moving train by Cinematographer P Sukumar. Also in the cast are Madhu, Jagathy, Nedumudi Venu, Harishree Ashokan, Sreejith Ravi, Krishna Prabha, Vatsala Menon, Anoop chandran and Manikuttan. Renjan Abraham will handle the editing section while Saburam is in charge of Art department. Bijibal tunes the few songs in the movie while others in the technical crew includes Sreejith Guruvayoor in makeup, Suresh fit well in costumes and Sunil Guruvayoor in stills.  Produced by S C Pillai in the banner of Vijay Combines, the movie will be brought to theatres by Central Pictures release.
