The Mullaiperiyar issue had its impact in the shooting of a Malayalam movie starring Pasupathi and Padmapriya in the lead roles, when the protestors asked the cast and crew to wind up their schedule at Sundarapandipuram near Tirunelveli.

The film titled 'No 66 Madurai Bus', directed by M A Nishad, was being shot at Sundarapandipuram a few days ago after a small-schedule in Tenkasi. It was at that time agitators reached the spot and asked the director not to hold the shooting there.

However, no violence was reported and it is said that the protestors gave one hour time for the cast and crew to pack their belongings. "All that the agitators wanted was to show their opposition in a peaceful manner," sources said.

Recently, there were rumours that there was a ban on Malayalam movies in Tamil Nadu and films of even top stars suffered a setback because of this. However, distributors and cinema hall owners in the State denied this saying no such ban.
