He walked in a little late but amidst the deafening cheers of fans and followers have been waiting for him, his speech and the message in it. He came straight to the front of the podium, folded hands and waved them to the huge crowd gathered in the HITEX Grounds apart from the millions of his fans gathered in front of the screens specially arranged across the state to listen to him and tuned to their TV sets. Then he talked. Like a common man who suffered, not like a leader who promise.
There were bursts of approval when he rendered lines from Pothana or Gaddar's poetry. His attempts to connect with both the Telangana and Seemandhra regions were lauded and will be seen as the first attempt by a leader in doing so.
I Suffered Too...
I have been suffering from the age of my schooling. It was always there in me, the urge to question. It prompted me to search for answers. I read a lot, practiced Yoga, learnt martial arts, acted in films but the restlessness never left me. The same restlessness led me today before you to announce 'Jana Sena'
My Friends Didn't Want This...
Many of my close friends including director Trivikram Srinivas warned me against entering political space when my career is thriving. But I have decided to go ahead. One friend Raju Ravi Teja from Warangal has been with me for over eight years and we discussed and debated several issues over and over again. I thank him for being with me.
Chiranjeevi Is In My Heart
He talked about his brother Chiranjeevi and made it amply clear that he wouldn't fault him though his entire speech was against the corrupt and irresponsible Congress that split the state of AP in a bizarre manner.
Nothing Personal Please...
He talked about leaders like KCR, Venkaiah Naidu, V Hanumantha Rao etc who criticized him on his political foray and his personal life. Pawan Kalyan said 'I will not tolerate anyone who tries to malign me talking my personal issues. I will dig out every detail of your lives'
Pawan added that he didn't reveal anything to public about his marriages coz he wanted to move on and didn't want his ex-wives to be a part of debate.
Why Should I Apologize To My Telangana
To the president of Telangana Jana Jagruthi Kavitha who demanded that he apologize to Telangana people, he said 'Why should I apologize to my own people. I believe I belong to Telangana as much as I do to Seemandhra'. He then countered her with a demand to clarify the details of the funds she'd raised in the name of Telangana development from the NRIs and others.
Yes, Telangana Is Drubbed...
I agree with Telangana people's sentiments that there was not enough development in the region and I empathize with their desire to have a separate state for their own rule. But with a better management, bifurcation could have been done more amicably.
Congress Messed It Up
Several leaders who don't understand the issues of Telugu people sat in Delhi and designed the hasty bifurcation of the state of AP. They didn't do it for 50 years and then the ten years of their own previous rule but placed it in the Parliament on the last day of the last session, closed the broadcast and moved it.
I May Not Contest This Time
My plan is long term, to stand by you for at least 25 years. I am not in a haste. I can wait till a team is formed. I am not sure if I will contest this term. But I will work with all likeminded parties, even including the TDP.
For good health, education, employment, security etc. But most importantly, 'Congress Hatao... Desh Ko Bachao...'
Over all, it's a speech delivered to make sure he is felt one among them and embrace him without any inhibitions or doubts. Fans might have been disappointed a bit for his closing remarks about not contesting this elections but he didn't do it for appeasing the fans, did he...
