In his Tirupathi public meet concluded moments ago, Pawan Kalyan as the Jana Sena Party chief delivered a speech stuffed with punch lines. Here we bring you some of the important ones:

'Villu nunchi vacchina banam, noti nunchi vacchina mata venakki teesukolem'. ('One can't take back an arrow that's shot from the bow, nor a word spoken in good earnest'). Pawan said this in the context of his cautious approach to making promises. He added that he is not someone who makes promises recklessly. "I make only those promises which I have the ability to fulfill", the Power Star said.

'Naku cinemala meeda vyamoham ledu. Samajam, desham meeda vyamoham undhi'. ('I have no desire for cinema. I have desire only for the society, for the country').

'Rashtranni addagoluga padagotti, prathyeka hodha istamani, ippati varaku ivvani kendranni konni adigi telchukunta'. (I will seek answers from the Centre, which has bifurcated the State carelessly and which has reneged on its promises). He was referring to the Centre's failure to accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh even after three years.

'Nenu bhajana chestanu. Modi garidi kadu, prajaladi. Nenu prajala thothuni'. ('I do 'bhajana' not of Modi, but of the people. I am an agent of the people'). Modi found fault with those slamming him for allegedly playing the agenda man of the TDP and the BJP.

'Mana rashtranni ee sthithi lo pettina Jairam Ramesh gariki okka sari chappatlu kottandi'. (Clap for Jairam Ramesh garu, who has put us in this situation). This was a sarcastic dig at the Congress leader, who was instrumental in effecting the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

He ended the speech by making an address, in English, to the Centre. "Respected sirs of BJP and Congress, we (Seemandhra people) are deeply hurt. You are not seeing our angst, anger, tears, and agony. We are not in our vicinity, you are in the North and we are in the South. I, Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JSP, representing Seemandhra people, will make sure we come in your vicinity", Pawan said, hinting at taking out large-scale protests in the eventuality of the Centre failing to accord SCS to AP.
