After Vijaya T. Rajender, director Perarasu can claim a special place as a director, dealing with the brother-sister bondage. Perarasu's `Thiruppachi' gave Vijay an image of an elder brother among many young girls.

If it was younger sister sentiment in `Thiruppachi', it is elder sister sentiment in `Pazhani'. Kushboo dons the role of the sister, while Bharath plays the brother. Kajal Agarwal plays the lady love and Biju Menon, M.S. Bhaskar, Rajkapoor, Chittibabu, Aishwarya, and Ravi Mariya play important roles.

Shakthi Chithambaram, the producer of `Englishkaran' and `Kovai Brothers', produces the film under the banner of Cinema Paradise.

The story revolves around the bond between the brother and sister. Bharath has transformed as an action hero in the film. He has also tried his hand in comedy too. Another `Thiruppachi' in the making?

The young hero has also entered into the area of voicing `punch' dialogues in the film. An effort to get a place among the big heroes?

Though the film is named after Pazhani, the story has nothing to do with the area. It is based in Chennai though a flashback scene happens in Pazhani.

The hallmark of Perarasu films - fights and songs - plays a major role in this film too. `Thalapathy' Dinesh has created a thrilling fight, which was shot in a factory located in Ennoor. This is the climax of the film.

It is said that Srikanth Deva has made all the six songs in six different styles. Perarsu has penned the lyrics for all the songs. He has also sung a song. The introductory song of Bharath has been shot in erstwhile central jail.

The subtitle of the film claims that the film would be a commercial treat. So folks, get ready for the feast during Pongal festival.
