Pilla Zamindar
Pilla Zamindaru is no doubt going to be a litmus test for Nani. He plays a disenfranchised 'zamindari' heir in the film Pilla Zamindaru. It is releasing on Oct. 14. Directed by Ashok G and music-directed by Selva Ganesh, the film sees Hari Priya and Bindu Madhavi opposite him.
The curious film has a not-so-interesting premise. Due to some unforeseen reasons, the youngest heir of a Zamindari clan is forced to live an ordinary life. We have seen many films in which the factionists, the descendants of royal families et al living the lives of underdogs due to fateful and baleful circumstances.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to watch the usually-comic Nani, known to go only for safe commercial films, in such a role. Going by the posters, we are in for some doses of madcap humour.
