The story

Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani pen a unique take on God and its faith layered by love, life and humanity. A mysterious pan chewing PK (Aamir Khan) is in search of God. A complete stranger PK is weird but curiously loving. PK in his search for God meets Bhairav Singh (Sanjay Dutt) and Jaggu aka jagat Janani (Anushka Sharma), Bhairav helps him to understand the language, Jaggu helps him to understand love.

PK challenges the stereotype belief of faith and while finding his answers finds love and much more..

What to look out for?

Raj Kumar Hirani this time with this unique take on the God’s faith in PK is successful again in doing the things he is known for - Making the audience think and memorize at his will.

‘Passioned’ in European and French cinematic fashion director Rajukmar Hirani gives ‘PK’ his trademark language of grace, modernity, blended with simplicity with different but intimately charming characters to tell his tale.

The brilliance is felt as a part of the storyline does hints towards some to the concept of God and God Men seen in Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal starrer Oh My God’ but it must be mentioned that only the debate on God and God Men has some resemblance otherwise Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani have given it an all together different approach that goes beyond. PK uses the power of art not to define God but questions the right and the wrong path required to reach our faith told with layers of human relationships and undercurrent of love and friendship.

Filled with fresh charming and heartwarming moments PK leaves up to its expectations to provide wholesome entertainment while pinning an important message to the core. The challenging concept is made believable and intriguing with appropriate dialogues. The environment mood and settings are perfect and technically it’s a brilliantly crafted film.

C.K. Muraleedharan cinematography is marvelously beautiful like postcards. Rajkumar Hirani editing is sharp. Production design by Snigdha Basu, Sumit Basu,Rajnish Hedao sets the mood and atmosphere to perfection. Manoshi Nath and Rushi Sharma’s costume are up to the demands of the character adding believe and identity.

PK creates another career triumph for Aamir Khan for its major awards turn. Exceptional in the Bhojpuri drawl with affable sweetness, the actor draws the viewer close to his curious character immediately, and manages to keep the audience amused throughout.

Excelling and surpassing himself in his most challenging role till date Aamir comic timings get more edge and sharp this time. Aamir uses mannerisms that contribute a great deal to the sporadic hilarity PK achieves. Sheer Brilliance. Best act till date.. yes.

Anushka Sharma - less hair more charm is an unstoppable delight as Jaggu aka Jaggat Jannani right from her entry till the end.

Sushant Singh Rajput is brilliant in his important role. Saurabh Shukla is perfect. Boman Irani is brilliant once again.

Sanjay Dutt, always has something ‘special’ for Hirani and Vinod Chopra and delivers it to everybody’s satisfaction.

Parikshit Sahani is very good.

Music of by Shantanu Moitra, Ajay-Atul and Ankit Tiwari go well with the mood of the film. All the numbers Chaar Kadam’ 'Nanga Punga Dost', 'Tharki Chokro' and 'Love Is Waste Of Time' penned by Swanand Kirkire, Amitabh Varma and Manoj Muntashir are topping charts. The pick of the lot is 'Chaar Kadam' by Shaan.

What Not

'PK' is successful in its wink to cliché practices of practicing faith but somewhere it lacks the healing zing experienced in his earlier films. Some where this sublime piece of cinema agrees to be mundane at some places and falls prey to predictability for a while.
