'Thavamai Thavamirunthu' saw Cheran pair with Padmapriya and the two are coming together again for 'Pokkisham'. Padmapriya interestingly had evinced her interest to direct movies and hence is also working as assistant director to Cheran for the film. Sabesh-Murali have set the lyrics of Yugabharathi to music.

Rajesh Yadav is the cinematographer and right now the shooting for 'Pokkisham' is going on in Kolkata. Though Tamil audiences are used to seeing Kolkata in films, the 'Pokkisham' team have sought special permission to film at the Kolkata Port which probably is the first time a Tamil film crew is doing so. Scenes involving Cheran and a Bengali actress are being shot there.

Looks like 'Pokkisham' also has the 'Autograph' kind of narration as reports indicate that incidents that happen from 1970 to 2008 are being canned. As with every period film, the art, cinematography and the costumes department would have a challenging endeavor ahead of them.
