Cheran’s Pokkisham is wearing a new look now. After reports from the media and suggestions from ‘well-wishers’ that the movie would be more interesting if some scenes and songs are deleted, the filmmaker-actor has cut-short the length by 22 minutes.

According to sources, two songs and a few scenes, which ‘interrupted’ the flow of Pokkisham no more form part of the movie. “Watch the film now to get mesmerised by the magic of love,” say circles close to the director.

Produced by Nemichand Jhabak and V Hitesh, Pokkisham is about romance between a couple (in 1971), who are miles apart and whose only means of communication are letters. Cheran has played the lead role besides directing the movie, with Padmapriya playing his ladylove.

The trams and streets of Kolkata in the 1970s created by art director Vairabalan are a treat to the eyes, say those who have watched Pokkisham. Rajesh Yadav has captured on his lens the flashback scenes with a clever change of tone while Sabesh Murali’s musical score too is good, they add.
