Pooja of Jay Jay and Attahasam fame is of Sri Lankan orgin. At present she is shooting for a Sri Lankan film in the islands. While shooting she was given locally brewed liquor to taste. Since it had no bitter taste she did not add water or ice and took it raw. She consumed the entire bottle during the break.
Towards the close of the shooting the brew took its effect. Pooja was totally blown out and went unconscious. Delirious and drunk she was admitted to a hospital.
The doctors cleared all the alcohol and stated that if she had been in that state she would have suffered brain damage. Now Pooja has sworn that she would never touch alcohol of any kind. Good decision!
