Potugadu

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

Manchu Manoj has flair. His passion for films is overflowing, in the sense, he always tries to expand his boundaries, challenge himself in not just acting in front of the camera or in audio functions but also do music, write lyrics and dialogues, compose dances and fights, sing a song... and obviously be the super director of his films. If his dad Mohan Babu, an accomplished actor, a true 'Celebrated Legend', has stood out thru his career as a disciplined actor who dances only to his director's tunes and his elder siblings Vishnu and Lakshmi never let their vibrant off screen persona disturb their careers as actors, Manoj has evolved as a person of thinking and invading and vetoing nature but of course with his team's complete support and understanding for his enthusiasm. Well, yes, this intro is for the actor's up and coming film 'Potugadu' and as the title suggests, he stabbed into almost all the crafts in the filmmaking, almost touching the guru of the TFI, Dasari Sir.

`Potugadu' will be the actor's invasion of Tolly audience after his `Oo Kodataraa...' and `Mister Nookayya' bombed at the box office. But this time, he is attempting an already successful film in Kannada, `Govindaya Namaha' and has roped in the same director. But the confidence comes from the producer Lagadapati Sreedhar who is famous for turning the verdict upside down with his relentless promotion of the film to the audiences.

Music by Achu, who has given a tremendous album earlier to the actor in `Nenu Meeku Telusaa' has repeated the magic again. Songs like `Pyar Me Padipoya', `Devataha' have already been chartbusters and is sure to rock the theater given the actor's weirdo and rebellious histrionics to match the tunes.

Slated to hit the screens on the 13th September, Potugadu has its positive vibes coming from the success of audio, Manoj's exuberance, Producer's grip, success of the original movie and it's sensible director Pawan Wadeyar and most significantly, the four babes fighting to scorch the screen with their oomph.
