'Mirchi', which catapulted writer-turned-director Koratala Siva to stardom overnight, has come in for a big round of applause from the Nandi Awards jury. The film has won the prestigious Best Film award!

Even as Koratala and the 'Mirchi' actor Prabhas are basking in the glory of the success of other movies, four years after the release of their film (the film hit the screens in Feb 2013), the state recognition makes it both popular and critically acclaimed, if ever that validation was needed.

Winning the Best Actor award for the year 2013, Prabhas is now the 'Baahubali' of Awards as well! The role of a pacifist peace-maker who tries to bring together two warring villages was essayed with a commendable degree of maturity by Prabhas. 'Veelaithe premiddam dude..' almost became a punch line, although it's not in the mold of an angry line said by a typical mass hero. That's the power of characterization for you!

Winning the Award for Best Debut Director, Koratala now has his stature heightened further. The sensibilities of different characters, the narrative style, the positioning of the songs - all of these bear testimony to Koratala's knack. Since then, he has delivered two massive hits and is well on his way to dish out another later this year.

In all probability, the 'Mirchi' combo will make another such remarkable movie in the coming years. May it win all the accolades!
