Actor Prashanth was one of the leading heroes of 90’s. During his hey days he worked with renowned directors like Mani Ratnam. Balu Mahendra, Shankar and Vasanth. He is also the hero of director Hari’s debut film Tamil that released in 2002.

But in the last years of the past decade the market of the actor started fading away. During the period, the actor’s personal life also took a beating owing to the break of conjugal relationship which lasted only for a few years. Despite a flurry of flops in the past few years Prashanth relentlessly sticks on to the lead roles and his latest release is Mambattiyan, the remake of Malaiyum Mambattiyan the super hit film of 1983 in which his father Thiyagarajan played the lead role. However the remake version that released in 2011 was not as successful.

Now the actor is back with a film titled Sahasam that is being directed debutante Arun Raj Varma who is the former assistant of Major Ravi who gave us the film Aran with Jeeva and Mohanlal. Buzz is that Prashanth has reduced 20 kgs of his body weight to look young and fit in the character.

The film’s supporting cast includes Nasser, Thambi Ramaiah, Thulasi, Sonu Sood and Kotta Srinivasarao. Devi Sri Prasad is going to score the music for the film and a leading heroine is likely to be roped in to romance Prashanth in this film.
