The eminent lady filmmaker is garnering attention with her latest venture ‘Ragini MMS’ and now our birdies found out that she is going for a remake next.

Ekta Kapoor is heard to remake a popular Tamil film ‘Kadhal’ and the Hindi version will be helmed by none other than Vikramaditya Motwane whose last film 'Udaan' created waves in Cannes.

Our birdies shared that the project will be jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Meenu, the noted south filmmaker Padam Kumar's wife.

Coming to the interesting part… It seems B-town’s cool dude Prateik Babbar has been approached to play the protagonist. Released in 2004, 'Kadhal' stars Bharath and Sandhya in the lead. It is directed by Balaji Sakthivel and produced by Shankar. The film is a simple yet striking love story, which talked about the relationship between a school going daughter of an influential man and a two-wheeler mechanic. The film's climax left an impact with the audience and it was one of the much talked about in the recent years.

Prateik made an impression in his debut movie ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and then further proved his acting skills with ‘Dhobi Ghaat’ and ‘Dum Maro Dum’. With promising movies like ‘Aarakshan’ and ‘My Friend Pinto’, one can catch more of Prateik’s talents. This is the second time Babbar has been considered for a south project; the first one which is Gautam Menon’s Tamil hit ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’. ..
