Recently to a film magazine Priyadarshan expressed his desire to rework the film Vandanam especially the climax of the film. The film Vandanam released in 1989 directed by Priyadarshan had an unexpected sad ending. Priyadarshan said that he wishes to remake the film and change the climax to a happy one rising up to the expectations of the audience.

The film was a fun movie abundant with lot of humor situation, but except to the tragedy at the end it was enjoyed totally by the audience. Even now when it is shown in Television it garners repeat audience. The director also said that more than his films with Mohanlal he like other directors film with the actor including Kireedam & Manichitrathazhu.
