A few days back it was reported that the Tamil remake of Bollywood super hit National award winning flick 'Queen' has been shelved. Tamannah who was supposed to play the lead role in the Tamil version was quoted in certain sections of media, that the project has been shelved.

But now veteran actor and producer Thiagarajan who has acquired the rights to remake the film in all the four South Indian languages has denied Tamannah's statement and said the project is very much on.

He has confirmed that Tamannah has been dropped from the project as the remuneration quoted by her could not be afforded. But that does not mean the Tamil remake itself has been shelved.

The 'Yaman' actor further said that he is in the process of finalizing the directors for Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada remakes of the film while the Tamil remake will be handled by Revathi and Suhasini. Amala Paul will be playing the lead in the Malayalam version of the film.
