After Kshanam from Tollywood and Bicchagadu from Kollywood, here is yet another Telugu film which has is minting money for its producers big-time. It's Ardhanaari, directed by Bhanushankar Chowdhary, released yesterday. Telling the story of an idealistic youth who poses himself as a transgender in his attempt to take on the system, it has Arjun Yajath and Mouryani playing the lead roles. The film has opened to a positive response in particular centres.

Following the film's release yesterday, several producers from Kollywood, Mollywood and Sandalwood are learnt to be vying for its remake rights. Having been made on a budget of Rs. 3 cr, the remake rights in all the languages put together may fetch it some Rs. 15 cr, if some sources are to be believed. If this is true, it means some producer from, most probably, the Tamil industry must be trying to make the film on a bigger scale. Ardhanaari stars unfamiliar faces, but the Tamil remake could well be a prestigious venture starring a big hero. Otherwise, so much wouldn't have been offered for remake rights.

The director has earlier directed Raju Maharaju and Saradaga Ammayitho, among others. Looks like Ardhanaari is slated to be his biggest film ever.
