Did sanjay Dutt used his political and celebrity clout to get his 30 day payrole.. well the protestors of Republican Party of India ( RPI) activist believed so and staged a demonstration in front of the prison. The activists waved black flags and shouted slogans condemning "undue favours" to Dutt.

The activists handed over a memorandum to the prison authorities not to favour Dutt and grant parole to all convicts on merit according to reports.

Sanjay Dutt was supposed to be released last Saturday for his 30-day parole to take care of his ailing wife, but was not allowed after the protest and questions raised about favours given to Sanjay Dutt.

Interestingly Manyata was spotted at a movie premier a day before and Sanjay Dutt requested payrole citing reasons for Manyata’s ill health.

However the jail authorities say Sanjay Dutt was not allowed to leave on payrole as he failed to furnish the surety.

According to reports published Sanjay Dutt will be released when the conditions imposed in the parole order are complied with, The actor is undergoing sentence under the Arms Act.

However Jail authorities are maintaining that Sanjay Dutt delay in payrole has nothing to do with the protest and controversy and Sanjay Dutt did provide his wife’s Manyata’s medical certificate while seeking payrole.

Parole, a temporary or permanent release of a prisoner before the expiry of a sentence on grounds of good behaviour, is granted for a reason. It is not considered as a set off and will not be counted as part of his prison term.
