Pugazh
Director Manimaran who made an impact with his debut flick 'Udhayam NH4' is back with 'Pugazh' starring Jai and Surabhi of 'Vela Illa Pattadhari' fame in the lead roles. 'Pugazh' is being co-produced by Varun Manian with music by Vivek-Mervin and cinematography by Velraj.
Initially, Priya Anand was cast opposite Jai for the venture with Anirudh Ravichander being roped in for music while a simultaneous Telugu version with Siddharth and Hansika Motwani was also considered. The film was first titled 'Podiyan'. However, the makers decided to re-title it to 'Pugazh' after a shelved venture by Aascar Films and actor Vijay.
By August 2014, there were reports that Trisha had given her approval for starring in the film by re-allocating dates. However, by November 2014, Surabhi had come on board the film and was launched as 'Pugazh'.
RJ Balaji and Karunas play supporting character and the presence of these two actors would guarantee hilarious comic portions in the film,
'Pugazh' is touted to be an action entertainer with a political base. Going by the trailers we could asses that the film revolves around a play ground and the clash over a group of youngsters and a political gang.
Produced by Varun Manian, Sushanth Prasand and Govindaraj and distributed by Ayngaran International, 'Pugazh' will be hitting the screens on March 18, 2016.
