Here is a saying about bollywood sequels. How much ever a treat the prequel might have been, the sequels rarely suceed. But, putting an end to this myth, ''Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2'' gives us a reason to be happy and gay after a very long time. PKP 2 is as much a laugh riot as its prequel. Here is how its story goes...

The film kicks start with three good friends, Anshul aka Gogo (Kartik Aaryan), Siddharth aka Chauka (Sunny Singh Nijjar) and Tarun aka Thakur (Omkar Kapoor). Being the highest earner of all three, Tarun is the source of income for the rest two. The three have the time of their lives with their motto of working hard and partying even harder. Everything is as normal, unless three girls enter their respective lives. Anshul falls for Cheeku aka Ruchika Khanna (Nushrat Bharucha), Siddharth for Supriya (Sonalli Sehgall) and Tarun for Kusum (Ishita Sharma). The couples enjoy each other''s company, until Kusun, who is also money conscious, starts having a problem with Tarun spending his hard-earned money on his friends. Problems start persisting between each couple with Anshul becoming Cheeku''s servant cum boyfriend, driving her and carrying her shopping bags, Siddharth becoming Kusum''s money machine and Tarun becoming a domestic help for Supriya''s parents. After this goes on for long, the three boys realize that they are stuck in wrong relationships and try hard to get out of it. Will the trio be able to be free again and how will the girls gain their respective man''s trust back? Forms the rest of the film.

Speaking of performances; all six actors are confident and amusing in their own unique ways, with the boys being the highlight of the film. Kartik''s dialogue delivery, Sunny''s comic timing and Tarun’s confidence proves as a plus for the film. Kartik and Nushrat''s chemistry is rocking. Coming to the story, the plot is similar to that of its prequel, with the protagonists falling in love, enjoying the relationship for a while and then facing its outburst. The screenplay is kept simple and anyone who has ever been in love can easily relate to the film in every way. Kartik''s monologue, in the sequel too is a laugh riot. The dialogues, especially the one-liners are witty.

While the first half of the film is awesome in every way, with some amazingly funny dialogues and scenes, the second half becomes tedious to some extent. The plot and the characters start going haywire after the interval, but the movie gets back on track by the climax. The songs of the film are fine and fit well with the plot. All the numbers are placed perfectly in the screenplay. The cinematography is sharp and so is the editing.

In all, ''Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2'' provides a fresh take on relationships and its outcomes. Even though it speaks from the male perspective, the film is worth a watch for its amazing performances and comic sections.
