An inspired package
Saturday, May 31, 2014 • Telugu Comments

Ra Ra Krishnayya by a less known music director like Achu does deliver goods.  Although the tunes are not imaginative, the musician makes the package attractive with his creative inputs.

The selection of the singers is good, especially Shreya Ghoshal and Achu himself.

The lyricists are there to give the songs the much needed icing on the cake.

Hero Hero

Artists: Karthik, Achu
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

The song lists out the mindset of the hero in pithy terms.  The vocals are quite good as Karthik and Achu lend their midas touch in their inimitable style.  The lyrics are full of that I-can-achieve-anything tone.  With no logical consistency, they reflect the thoughts of a youngster carried away by horoscope.  The music is inspired but it is catchy nevertheless.

Ra Ra Krishnayya

Artists: Achu, Shreya Ghoshal, Yazin Nazir
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

The song is Shreya Ghoshal all the way, who comes with her best vocals as ever.  The refreshing song is quite soothing and perhaps the best of Ghoshal's recent works.  The lyrics are meaningful and situational.  Achu's instrumention makes a mark.

Onam Onam

Artists: Achu, Chinmayee
Lyricist: Sri Mani

The festive song is celebratory in tone, as the name goes.  Chinmayee's unique rendition makes the song all the more tuneful and soulful.  Although the instrumentation is heavily inspired, Sri Mani's lyrical words make the song a good number.

Vaadarey Machan

Artists:  Suchitra, Achu
Lyricist: Sri Mani

Suchitra's rollicking voice makes this trendy item number-like song something to remember.  Besides, Achu chips in with his best way.  Sri Mani's lyrics are at their usual best.

Come On Baby

Artists: Sowmya, Sree Chitra, Sooraj
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar

Looks like the song was tuned by a Kolly music director for Vijay to be at his massy self.  Not really original by any stretch of imagination, Sooraj's vocals save the day for it.  The instrumentation is not inviting us to listen to it more.  Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are interesting, though.

Seetha Kalyanam

Artist: Mahathi

The song is a devotional one.  Besides the rendition, the music director can't be expected to tweak it much.  Mahathi proves a good choice.
