He gives her his vodka on the pretext of getting kareeb but boy he is an ageing married garib who runs and ad agency and knows how to approach a hottie.

Naughty. Hottie (Neha Dhupia - perfect) plays hide and seek with this adman (Rajat Kapoor- fine) on a party night who on the morning realizes his bhool then checks in the hottie house to know what actually happened last night and comes to terms with the complications of modern day couples who do live and share their latest gazettes and sleek wheels but are actually away from the feel called bonding and togetherness.

PNC's `Raat Gayi Baat Gayi' helmed by Saurabh Shukla on the story penned by Rajat Kapoor along with him is a decent though not roundly entertaining rom com, more clowny then funny, this generic rom com with a contemporary take is kuch kuch cuddling smiling comment on relationships.

Lacking the qualities required for a satisfactory rom com, the movie is more talkative then it should be.

Gags could have been easily used to create more humour as the talk sometimes gives a tedious feel.

Saurab Shukla improves as a helmer and surprisingly disappoints as a writer.

Set in Mumbai, the movie makes a point of commitment and understanding anyhow the characters here who are dealing with frustration are not giving any particular reason for this behaviour.

What's exactly wrong between Rajat Kapoor as Rahul and Iravati Harshe as Mitali is unexplained and what makes 's Anu Menon as Nandini get furious over Vinay Pathak who plays Amit over a porn tape is clowny not funny.

Dalip Tahil as Saxena a middle aged writer having a secret affair with a hottie is understandable as his wife Jolly played by Navneet Nishan is not creative but she pretends to be, she is frivolous, gullible, flighty and loud but an endearing person despite her failings when she insists upon helping the people around her.

The last couple strikes a chord as the characters are properly explained

Whereas the other two who run the story are weak.

The reason for the writer falling for Neha is understandable but why the other two go for her is a big guess.

The move is designed to give men some special satisfaction at one point when the secret of that night gets revealed.

All the actors are effective in their roles in the film which earns from its moments between Vinay, Dilip & Rajat. Which makes this occasionally interesting.

Nevertheless, this Raat Gayi Baat Gayi' sums up as just another Friday routine which is recommended only for those who think it is a must.
