RAATE - Producer - D Beats, Direction - AP Arjun, Music - V Harikrishna, Cinematography - Sathya Hegde, Cast - Dhananjay Kumar, Shruthi Hariharan, Bullet Prakash, Suchindra Prasad, Uday, Mohan
Juneja are in the cast.

It is difficult for AP Arjun to hit hat trick. His third film ‘Raate’ falls flat with routine stuff and tiresome to watch. The point of innocents from village coming to city - misled and punished
is nothing new. The racket of ‘Kidney’ which director touches is also an old issue. After waiting for two years to get this kind of cinema - it was unexpected. The over confidence of director of
AP Arjun has cost heavily it seems. The film is pretty good in songs from V Harikrishna (also debut producer), cinematography of Sathya Hegde is on top (he really gives top angle shots) and lead
pair Shruthi Hariharan and Dhananjay Kumar plus Bullet Prakash given their best. It is the obsolete theme and screenplay that gives back seat to ‘Raate’ that had good hype before release. Lovely
lovers - Raaja and Raani (Dhananjay and Shruti) are on the verge of marriage. The wish of Raani to watch challenging star Darshan film ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’ in multiplex plus purchases
for marriage bring them to big Bengaluru. In Bengaluru city they get honest support from Jagganna (Bullet Prakash) who lends 24x7 services. When the lovers reach the theatre, Raani is kidnapped
from toilet by a ‘tantrik’ (Bhavani Prakash). After few days Raani is traced in a government hospital. The reunion of Raaja and Raani is not for happy ending. Raaja knowing what has happened to
Raani takes revenge. He goes on killing spree. On the advice of Jagganna the couple escape to forest for a few days. To return to village is once again uphill task as brother of slain rowdy makes
way very hard to cross. It is a tragedy for lovers in the city. Dhananjay and Shruthi Hariharan make good pair. Their chemistry is good. Shruthi Harirharan innocence, looks, potentiality is good.
Dhananjay dialogue delivery is special and he is another rising action hero. Buller Prakash deserve a best supporting actor for this film. Brilliant cinematography and melodious music in ‘Raate’
lift the film. Sathya Hegde in the forest, village and city is hero with his camera. The wide and top angle shots are impeccable. V Harikrishna has lent a few good tunes. The song sung by Kichcha
Sudeep is placed at the right time. This 138 minutes film ‘Raate’ has nothing to rejuvenate for audience in story and screenplay.
