The films are full of dreams, colours and bigger than life characters. But behind this silver screen hard and fast rules does exist. Shooting against deadlines, planning in terms of locations, costumes, casting, production, expense and so on - great efforts go in for bringing out the dreams of a film maker. Absence of co-operation among the cast and crew will not only put the director and producer in a fix but it will also lead other dependents in trouble. This is exactly what actor Radha Ravi stressed during the press meet of the movie ‘Surla’.

Advising all the movie makers, he expressed his request by saying, “Please see if artist whom you hire are members of their respective unions. Now-a-days, we are facing a big problem because of non-members who are acting in Tamil films because they are leaving the films in half the way, if they are not interested to act anymore. We are facing problems to find them out again.”

He also commented on the abundance of talents within the state itself, “We are not using the resources which we have here and we always look in to north for a hero or a heroine. We do have smart tall and beautiful people here so, I request the directors and producers to use the resources in our place or at least see to that their choice of artist are properly joining their respective unions.”

‘Surla’ is being directed by Sanjay Ram. After a long gap of 6 years, Producer Azhagan Thamizhmani is back to produce this movie and interestingly, his son Ajay Krishnan is roped in for the hero’s role. The leading lady is Sanjitha.

One can see Radha Ravi in a very different role, compared to his last movies. “I have done a new get up for the film and I have got appreciation for a get up for the first time” – the actor revealed, who plays the character, Aara in ‘Surla’.
