Actor-director T Rajender, who has changed his name to Vijay T Rajendhar recently, has launched his next venture Veerasamy after a brief hiatus. Interestingly, the movie will not feature his son Silambarasan. Instead, Rajendhar himself has decided to jump into the driver's seat for Veerasamy.

The actor in his silver jubilee year in Tamil filmdom says, 'in 1970, my Oru Thalai Ragam was released. Now in my silver jubilee year, Veerasamy is getting ready.'

Rajendhar is introducing two young girls and a youth in the movie. VJ-turned-actress Meghna Naidu, who acted in a couple of Telugu movies, is venturing to Tamil cinema with the movie. Ajees and Darshini are also making their debut.

Rajendhar has introduced a host of artistes on the silver screen including actor Rajeev and actresses Amala and Mumtaz to name a few.

Mumtaz, introduced by him in Monisha En Monalisa, acts opposite Rajendhar in the movie. Talking about the flick, Mumtaz says, 'I was asked to reduce my weight by my guru (Rajendhar) for this role. For this purpose, I went on a special diet for the past one and half months to reduce 20 kg.'

Editing by Anthony and stunts are by Sundar. Besides scoring the music, penning the lyrics, Rajendhar has written the dialogues, handles cinematography, produced and directs Veerasamy
