A section of the media got it wrong on Thursday. It was not DMK president M Karunanidhi who asked Rajinikanth to focus on health alone; instead, it was the Superstar who urged the octogenarian to take care of his health.

There was a buzz Thursday afternoon that the former Chief Minister, who was apparently irked at Rajini’s telephonic conversation with Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, called him up and asked “to concentrate on health alone.”

However, a press release from the DMK headquarters clarified things. It said the Superstar telephoned Karunanidhi and said: “You've seen many ups and downs. Don’t worry about anything. Take care of your health.”

On Wednesday, Rajini called Jayalalithaa after being discharged from the hospital in Singapore. He congratulated the AIADMK chief on her massive victory in the State elections. He also told her he would return soon to India.
