Bal Thackeray's passing has hit several personalities hard. Superstar Rajinikanth was available to comment immediately and he expressed his sorrow on the passing of the Shiv Sena leader.

Rajinikanth's message read: "Sri Balasaheb Thackeray was a great leader and a father figure to many, including me. This is a great loss to all. My heart felt condolences to all his family members and followers all over the world. I pray for his soul to rest in peace at the feet of the lord."

Bal Thackeray, 86, was a cartoonist turned politician who inspired several Marathi leaders and reforms. Reports suggest that he had a sudden cardiac arrest at his 'Matoshee' residence in Bandra. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but the doctors couldn't revive him in time. This has come as a shock for all of India to see one of it's oldest politicians and leaders fall prey to sickness.
