Rakshasi took fantastic opening: Rajamouli

Released amid decently good expectations, Andala Rakshasi only got mixed reviews on Day 1. This has been acknowledged by Rajamouli, one of the producers, himself. The fact that the film was universally described as a tribute to Mani Ratnam by audience did not translate into meagre openings though.

The film has been thanklessly lambasted by most film critics. Rajamouli says, "Despite mixed talk and not-so-positive reviews, Andala Rakshasi took fantastic openings."

The producers are optimistic that the film will continue its good performance on Saturday and Sunday, too. "Monday will decide," Rajamouli says with a note of caution.
